Unlock a password-protected PDF

How it works
Unlock PDF removes a password you already know from a document you can already open, and saves a copy with the encryption stripped — useful when a bank statement or an invoice arrives protected and you need to print, merge or compress it without retyping the password every time. This is not a cracker: it cannot recover or guess an unknown password, and a file you cannot open cannot be unlocked here. The content is left exactly as it was. The password is removed in your browser, so neither the file nor the password leaves your device.
- Drop the password-protected PDF onto the page.
- Type the password you currently use to open the file. Passwords are case-sensitive, so watch for capitals and stray spaces — a mismatch is the usual reason unlocking fails.
- Press “Unlock PDF” — a new copy is built with the encryption removed and the content untouched.
- Download the unlocked file. It now opens without prompting, and works in tools that refuse encrypted PDFs, such as Compress PDF.
