How much does text recognition cost?

Billing is per page: a photo or scan counts as one page, a multi-page PDF is counted by its pages. The exact price per page is shown on the page next to the model, and the total appears on the submit button before you confirm.

Do I need an account?

Yes. OCR runs on our GPU servers and is charged in credits, so you need to sign in and have credits on your balance.

What happens to my files?

Your scan, photo or PDF is uploaded to our servers and the text is extracted there. You can copy the recognized text right away or download a PDF with an invisible text layer: the page looks the same, but search and selection now work on it.

Does it recognize handwriting?

Poorly. The engine is built for printed text - scans, photos and PDFs of printed documents. For handwriting, expect unreliable results.

Can I upload a multi-page PDF?

Yes. Each page is recognized and billed separately, so the total price grows with the number of pages. The estimate is shown before you start.
