Separate voice and music

How it works
Separating voice and music takes one recording and gives you back two: the singing on its own, and everything else on its own. Both come out the same length as the original, so they still line up when you put them side by side.
That covers most of the reasons people come here. A backing track without the singing is what karaoke needs. A voice on its own is what you want in order to learn a part, check the words, or build something new around it. The two arrive as separate files and you take whichever you need, or both.
The work is done on our servers, so the file is uploaded and the two tracks come back. Nobody listens to it, nothing is trained on it, and your original and the results are deleted automatically after about six hours. The price follows the length of the recording, and a long track also means a longer wait. The result is good but not magic: a voice buried deep in the mix, heavy effects, or several people singing at once are the hard cases, and you may hear traces of one track in the other.
- Choose a song, or drop it onto the page. Audio and video both work - from a video we take the sound.
- Look at the price on the button. It comes from the length of the recording, and nothing is charged until you press it.
- Press Separate. If you are not signed in, the button takes you to sign-in first and brings you straight back here.
- Wait while it works. You will see your place in the queue, and a long track takes longer than a short one.
- Listen to both tracks on the page and download the ones you need. Save them somewhere permanent: files are removed from our servers after about six hours.
